Eagles slip by Raiders to stay unbeaten in girls’ soccer

ERIN – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles stand as the lone undefeated team in District 4 high school girls’ soccer after they edged the previously unbeaten Erin Raiders 2-1 on the Erin Public School field Thursday.

Robyn deJonge and Reegan Endeman hit for a goal apiece for the Eagles.

Charlotte Cuthbertson had the goal for the Raiders. That was the first goal allowed by Emmanuel Christian this season.

Emmanuel Christian and Erin lead the league with nine points apiece, but Emmanuel Christian has a game in hand. The Eagles are at 3-0-0 while the Raiders are at 3-1-0 and they’re followed by the Norwell Varsity Reds at 1-2-1, Westside Thunder at 0-1-1 and Wellington Heights Wolverines at 0-3-0.

Emmanuel Christian has a postponed game against Westside still to play while the only other game left on the regular-season schedule is a match between Wellington Heights and Westside at Westside Monday.

The playoffs are to start with the semifinals Wednesday while the championship game is slated for May 24.
