Eagles win three, move into tie for second in senior volleyball
ERIN – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles claimed three consecutive wins as the District 4 senior girls’ volleyball league completed its regular season Thursday at Erin District High School.
The three wins by the Eagles left them in a three-way tie for second in the six-team league.
Westside Thunder finished atop the league at 9-1 while the Norwell Varsity Blues, Emmanuel Christian and Wellington Heights Wolverines all had 6-4 records. Centre Dufferin Royals (3-7) and Erin Raiders (0-10) trailed and don’t qualify for the playoffs.
Thursday, the Eagles defeated Wellington Heights 2-1, Centre Dufferin 3-0 and Erin 3-0.
The league’s playoffs are set for Tuesday at Westside in Orangeville. The 10 a.m. semifinals are to feature Emmanuel Christian against Norwell and Wellington Heights against Westside.
Semifinal winners are to meet in the 1 p.m. final.

Junior Girls’ Volleyball
Erin scored three wins on its own court to move to third in the final regular-season standings.
Westside finished first at 10-0 and were followed by Emmanuel Christian (7-3), Erin (6-4), Wellington Heights (5-5), Centre Dufferin (1-9) and Norwell (1-9).
Erin is to clash with Emmanuel Christian in Tuesday’s semifinals at Westside at 11:30 a.m. Wellington Heights and Westside are to meet in the other semifinal.
The final, set for 2:30 p.m., will feature the semifinal victors.
