Elora Mohawks leave Point Edward Pacers way behind

The Elora Mohawks scored more goals than shots recorded by the Point Edward Pacers as they clobbered their guests 25-2 in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Saturday at the Point Edward Arena.

The Mohawks, who outshot the Pacers 56-17, led 11-1 at the end of the first period and 24-1 after the second. The third period was played in straight time.

Brinley Wilson added to his scoring totals with seven goals and five assists while Nate Renaud had four goals and seven assists. Keegan Detweiler and Connor Willmets each added a hat trick while JJ Lavigne and Tobias Wilson each scored twice and single goals were netted by Brock Redwood, Cole Hunsberger, Owen Moore and Landon Krysko. Hunsberger and Detweiler each had four assists while Lavigne and Tobias Wilson each had three, Willmets had two and Owen Tovell, Terrance Barrina and Ryan McDougall each had one.

Bo Doxtator and Kaia Pierce scored a goal apiece for Point Edward while Danton Molotky assisted on both goals and Blake Broumpton and Kaden Smith each had one assist.

Carter Billings had 15 saves for the Mohawks. Aiden Foster played the first 22:24 of the game and the entire third period in net for Point Edwards while Austin Dalgety played the final 17:36 of the second period. Foster finished with 19 saves and Dalgety had 12.

The Mohawks scored two power-play goals and were charged with seven minutes in penalties while Port Edwards had 17.
