Elora Mohawks nipped by Six Nations Rebels

The Elora Mohawks fell behind late in the second period and never recovered as they were edged 9-6 by the Six Nations Rebels in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Friday at Hagersville’s Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

The six goals were the lowest single-game output by the Mohawks this season.

The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the first period while two goals in the final minute and a half of the second period put Six Nations up 7-5.

Brinley Wilson had a hat trick for the Mohawks while Evan McDougall scored twice and Terrance Barrina added the other goal. JJ Lavigne and Tobias Wilson each had two assists while single assists were awarded to Owen Moore and Keegan Detweiler.

Grayson Skye connected for a pair of goals for Six Nations while single goals were recorded by Damon Decaire, Rowan Smith, Tray Miller, Chaz Hill, Owen Canloon, Dalen Burning and Kariwanoro Squire.

Shots on net were not reported.

Sam Forbes played the first two periods in net for the Mohawks while Carter Billings played in the third. Ryder Johnson played the entire game for Six Nations.

Elora scored three power-play goals while Six Nations had two shorthanded goals.
