Elora Mohawks run away from Point Edward Pacers

The Elora Mohawks scored another one-sided victory in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play as they dropped the Point Edward Pacers 21-3 Sunday at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre.

The win came a day after Elora downed the Welland Generals 27-5.

The Mohawks led Point Edward 10-2 at the end of the first period and all scoring was complete by the end of the second.

Elora outshot Point Edward 60-14.

Nate Renaud had four goals for the Mohawks while Owen Moore and Brinley Wilson netted three goals apiece. Cole Hunsberger, Keegan Detweiler and Connor Willmets tallied twice apiece and single goals were added by Owen Tovell, JJ Lavigne, Evan McDougall, Terrance Barrina and Cole Doherty. Lavigne, Detweiler and Wilson each had five assists while Evan McDougall had four, Moore had three, Tovell and Carter Coffey had two each and Hunsberger, Renaud, , Jabe Verbeek, Owen Williams, Willmets, Liam Keating and Landon Krysko each had one.

Kaia Pierce scored all three goals for Point Edward.

The Mohawks outshot the Pacers 60-14 and had eight power-play goals and a shorthanded goal.

Carter Billings had 11 saves for the Mohawks.
