Elora Mohawks yield early goal in loss to unbeaten Six Nations

FERGUS – Five times the Six Nations Rebels scored two consecutive goals against the Elora Mohawks to remain unbeaten in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play with an 11-7 victory Thursday at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.

Six Nations led 3-2 at the end of the first period and 6-4 after the second.

The Rebels opened the scoring 1:48 into the game and never trailed.

Peyton Drone and Brinley Wilson each had two goals and an assist for Elora while JJ Lavigne, Tobias Wilson and Owen Moore added single tallies. Moore set up five goals while Keegan Detweiler had three assists, Trae Verbeek had two and Carter Coffey and Tobias Wilson had one each.

Winter Rivera connected for a hat trick for Six Nations while Connley Joe Squire, and Rakawineh Elijah scored twice each and Anahilis Doxtator, Hodo Martin, Kaylem Whales Racette and Damon Doxtator added single goals. Macay Jimerson assisted on five of the goals while Squire and Damonie Thomas each had three assists, Anahilis Doxtator, Hodo Martin and Elijah had two each and Rivera and Damon Doxtator had one each.

Six Nations outshot Elora 52-40 and the Rebels were a perfect 4-for-4 on their power play while the Mohawks were 4-for-6 on their power play.

Sam Forbes had 41 saves for the Mohawks while Immani Mitten had 33 for Six Nations.

The result leaves the Mohawks at 14-3-0 and Six Nations unbeaten at 16-0-0.
