Emmanuel Christian seniors lock down top two spot in hoops

SHELBURNE – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles secured a finishing spot in the top two in the six-team District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball league as they slipped by the Centre Dufferin Royals 35-31 at Centre Dufferin Wednesday.

The win gives the Eagles a two-game sweep of the regular-season series between the two teams and would give the Eagles the tie-breaker should the two teams finish deadlocked in the standings.

Wednesday, Tiffany Bouwers had 23 points for Emmanuel Christian while Callista Daly had 10 for Centre Dufferin.

Westside Thunder lead the league at 8-1 and are followed by Emmanuel Christian at 7-2, Centre Dufferin at 5-3, Erin Raiders at 4-6, Norwell Varsity Reds at 2-8 and Wellington Heights Wolverines at 0-6.
