Erin Outlaws dropped at home by Saugeen Shores

ERIN – The Erin Outlaws yielded four consecutive goals including two in the final two and a half minutes of the game as they were downed 5-1 by the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks in Ontario Elite Hockey League play Saturday night at Erin’s Centre 2000 arena.

After a scoreless first period, Saugeen Shores led 3-1 after the second period.

Jacob Miller scored the goal for Erin with help from Brad Humberstone and Jordan Tutt.

Scoring a goal apiece for Saugeen Shores were Lauchlin Elder, Mike Fiegehen, James McHaig, Curtis Johnston and Matt Shields. Justin Donnelly had three assists while Johnston had two and McHaig, Andy Mitchell, Fiegehen, Clayton Fritsch and Elder had one apiece.

The teams took 41 shots apiece. The Winterhawks went 2-for-4 on their power play while the Outlaws were scoreless on two power plays.

Mac Reamey had 36 saves for Erin and Clayton Fritsch had 40 for Saugeen Shores.

The result leaves the Outlaws at 2-4-0-0 and Saugeen Shores at 6-2-0-0.

Erin is to host the Milverton Four Wheel Drives (0-6-0-0) Sunday at Centre 2000. Game time is 4 p.m.
