Erin Outlaws dropped by Ripley in Game 3

RIPLEY – The Erin Outlaws yielded five goals in the first period Saturday as they suffered a 6-1 loss to the Ripley Wolves in Ontario Elite Hockey League quarter-final playoff action at the Ripley Huron Community Centre.

The teams also scored a goal apiece in the third period.

The result leaves Ripley leading the best-of-seven series 3-0.

Jacob Miller scored for the Outlaws while Lucas Schott and Pierre-Luc Forget assisted on the goal.

Garrett Meurs had a pair of goals for Ripley while single goals were netted by Ethan Skinner, Jakob Reeves, Tyson Soers and Nick Seiler. Dan Nicoloff, Gerrit Satosek and Kaden Hoggarth each had two assists while Todd Hellyer, Chase Meurs, Dylan Sayle, Cody Britton and Brett Catto each had one assist.

Ripley outshot the Outlaws 42-35 and went 1-for-6 on their power play while Erin was scoreless on nine power plays.

Connor Toogood started in net for Erin and stopped 13 shots before being replaced by Jacob Tugnutt after Ripley’s third goal. Tugnutt had 23 saves during the remainder of the game.

Jason Hamilton had 34 saves for Ripley.
