Erin Outlaws skate away to drop Milverton

MILVERTON – The Erin Outlaws struck for six goals in the third period as they clobbered the Milverton Four Wheel Drives 9-1 in Ontario Elite Hockey League play Sunday at the Perth East Recreation Complex.

After a scoreless first period, Erin shot ahead 3-0 in the second.

The Outlaws had eight goals before Mike Vittelli scored for Milverton with 3:43 to go in the third. Dennis Dewar and Reid Swartzentruber assisted on the goal.

Five of Erin’s goals came in the final 11 and a half minutes of the game.

Jacob Miller had a hat trick for Erin while Luke Miehm scored twice and single goals were added by Cameron Kokelj, Brad Holman, Jacob Coulson and Liam Galton. Jesse Chidwick had three assists while single assists went to Adrian Peric, Chris Lachance, Miller, Kokelj, Kolton Maguire, Holman and Travis Brown.

Shots on net were not recorded. The Outlaws went 1-for-8 on their power play and the Four Wheel Drives were scoreless on four power plays.

Jake Lawr was in net for Erin and Tyler Fassl was in goal for Milverton.

The nine-goal output was the most in a single game for the Outlaws in their inaugural season.
