Erin Outlaws tripled by Seaforth, first loss of season

ERIN – The Erin Outlaws suffered their first loss of the Ontario Elite Hockey League’s inaugural season as they were tripled 6-2 by the Seaforth Centenaires Saturday at Erin’s Centre 2000 arena.

Erin grabbed the early lead with two goals in the first period while Seaforth got those two backs in the second period and added their other four goals in the third.

Cameron Kokelj scored both goals for the Outlaws while Stuart Barber and Daniel Heelis each had one assist.

Kyle Stanbury had two goals and an assist for Seaforth while single goals were netted by Jarrett Bogdan, Mike Siddall, Jacob Finlayson and Malcolm McLeod. Carter Collinson had two assists and single assists were awarded to Bogdon, Blake Pickering, Zach Hatch, Jamie Huber and McLeod.

The Centenaires outshot the Outlaws 33-23 and were a perfect 2-for-2 on their power play while Erin was scoreless on four power plays.

Connor Toogood had 27 saves for the Outlaws while Alex Hutcheson had 21 for Seaforth.

Erin is 2-0-1-0 and the Centenaires are 2-0-0-0.

The Outlaws are to host the Minto 81’s (1-1-0-0) Saturday at the Palmerston and District Community Centre Saturday at 7 p.m.
