Erin Outlaws yield goal early in third in loss to Lucknow

ERIN – The Erin Outlaws surrendered a goal 22 seconds into the third period and it proved to be the winning marker as the Outlaws were edged 3-2 by the Lucknow Lancers in Ontario Elite Hockey League play Saturday at the Centre 2000 arena.

Trent Michie was the lone player to score for Lucknow, but collected a natural hat trick – three consecutive goals — in a span of two minutes and one second of game time in including his first two 61 seconds apart late in the second period after the Outlaws had scored the first two goals of the game.

Cameron Kokelj and Jacob Coulson scored for Erin while Joseph Franzin, Brad Holman, Joey Warywoda and Liam Galton each had an assist.

Mitch Kuik and Tyler Medd each had two assists for the Lancers while Mike Johnstone and Tanner Simpson each collected one assist.

The Outlaws outshot the Lancers 55-47 and went 1-for-6 on their power play while Lucknow was scoreless on three power plays.

Ripley Wolves lead the 11-team league at 13-1-3 (W-L-OTL) while the Creemore Coyotes are second at 12-3-1 and are followed by the Tavistock Royals at 12-7-0, Minto 81’s at 11-5-1, Seaforth Centenaires at 11-7-0, Saugeen Shores Winterhawks and Durham Thundercats both at 10-7-1, the Outlaws at 6-10-1, Milverton Four Wheel Drives at 5-13-1, Georgian Bay Applekings at 4-11-2 and Lucknow at 3-14-1.
