Fergus Thistles down Halton Hills for third consecutive win

The Fergus Thistles made it three wins in a row as they downed the Halton Hills Bulldogs 13-6 in Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League play Monday at the Mold Masters Arena in Georgetown.

The Thistles led 5-4 at the end of the first period before they outscored Halton Hills 4-1 in both the second and third periods. The teams were tied 5-5 with five minutes to go in the second period.

Six players scored two goals apiece for Fergus – Logan Joyes, Spencer Aitchison, Tye Sanderson, Jordan Mueller and Jack Webley. Kaiden Patterson, Nate Long and Brodie Rice added single goals while Aiden McDougall and Kody Brown each had four assists. Hudson Karn, Patterson, Owen Hahn, Jared Bettonvil, Sanderson and Griffin Mackie each had two assists while Mueller and Webley had one apiece.

Vincent Ward had two goals for the Bulldogs while single goals were scored by Garret Smith, Zakary Marshall, Steven Skjarum and Jacob Tarr had one each.

Fergus outshot Halton Hills 65-44.

Sam Krauter had 38 saves for the Thistles while Evan Snyder had 52 for the Bulldogs.

Fergus had three power-play goals and a shorthanded tally in the game while Halton Hills scored on one power play.
