Fergus Thistles run to their fifth consecutive win

The Fergus Thistles held the Halton Hills Bulldogs to two goals or less in each period as they posted a 16-5 victory in Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League play Friday at Georgetown’s Mold Masters Arena.

The Thistles led 3-2 at the end of the first period and 10-4 after the second as they recorded their fifth consecutive victory.

Aiden McDougall, Kaiden Patterson and Jared Bettonvil scored twice each for Fergus while single goals were netted by Kody Brown, Hudson Karn, Spencer Aitchison, Cooper Fleet and Tye Sanderson. Bettonvil had four assists while McDougall and Brown had three each, Fleet had two and Caden Levine, Aitchison, Aiden Cormack and Sanderson each had one assist.

Steven Skjarum scored twice for Halton Hills while single goals were added by Jack Cole Wilkes, Noah Savery and Marcus Maguire.

The Thistles outshot the Bulldogs 55-46.

Eric Krauter had 41 saves for Fergus while Nathan George had 39 for Halton Hills.

The Thistles had five power-play goals while the Bulldogs had one.
