Gaels sweep Spartans to stay unbeaten in senior volleyball

GUELPH – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels gave themselves a little more breathing room atop the District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball league’s standings.

GCVI swept the Centennial Spartans 3-0 Thursday to remain the lone undefeated team in the league.

The Gaels have won all nine of their games, yielding a single set loss in the 28 sets they’ve played.

They defeated the Spartans 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

The Spartans and St. James Lions are tied for second at 6-3 while the Ross Royals and Bishop Macdonell Celtics are both at 5-4. They’re followed by the Centre Wellington Falcons at 3-6, Orangeville Bears at 2-7 and Lourdes Crusaders at 0-9.
