Grand River Gargoyles trampled by Hamilton Wildcats

GUELPH – The Grand River Gargoyles suffered their worst loss of the Ontario Australian Football League season Saturday as they were clobbered 110-8 by the Hamilton Wildcats at Margaret Greene Park.

The loss squares the Gargs’ record at 3 wins and 3 losses.

The Gargs scored a single point in the first quarter and added their other seven in the third quarter.

Hamilton scored 24 in the first quarter, 42 in the second, 25 in the third and 19 in the fourth.

Michael Visser had four goals for Hamilton while Jimi Smith and Liam Batchelor had three apiece and Trent McIlroy had two. Getting one each were Thomas Howe, Eric Klein, and Joshua Kane.

Grand River’s scorer wasn’t available.

The Gargs have a bye next weekend and are to play the Toronto Rebels at Humber College July 29 at 12 p.m.
