Gryphon lacrosse men clout Toronto to return to winning ways

TORONTO – The Guelph Gryphons got back to their winning ways in Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association action Saturday as they dropped the Toronto Varsity Blues 15-3 at Toronto’s Varsity Stadium.

Robbie Baxter struck for a hat trick for the Gryphs while Liam Ashton, Jake Cook, Nicholas Volkov and Gavin Thibeault each scored twice. Single goals were added by Owen Kelly, Cole Cook, Carter Mackay and Liam MacConnel. Ashton and Kelly each had two assists while Cole Cook and Mackay had an assist.

Scoring for Toronto are Henry Klinck, CJ Sarvinis and Jonathan Murawsky.

The win lifts the Gryphon record to 6-2. They’re to host the McMaster Marauders Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

The Gryphs are to complete their regular season with a home game Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. against the Western Mustangs.
