Gryphon lacrosse women drop two crossover games

OSHAWA – The Guelph Gryphons were downed in a pair of games in their first crossover matches with East Division teams in OUA women’s lacrosse play Sunday at Ontario Tech’s Vaso’s Field.

The Gryphs were edged 14-10 by the host Ridgebacks and 12-10 by the Toronto Varsity Blues.

Scoring details were not available.

Western Mustangs lead the West Division at 8-0 and they’re followed by the Laurier Golden Hawks at 5-3. Gryphs at 3-5, McMaster Marauders at 2-6 and Brock Badgers at 1-7.

In the East Division, Queen’s Gaels lead at 8-0 with Trent Excalibur second at 5-3, Toronto third at 3-6 and Ontario Tech fourth at 2-7.

The Gryphs are to complete their regular season Sunday with two more crossover games on the Nipissing University campus in North Bay. They’re to play Queen’s at 8:30 a.m. and Trent at 1:15 p.m.
