Gryphon rugby men win again, women host Brock in semifinals

HAMILTON – The Guelph Gryphons added another one-sided win to their resume for the OUA men’s rugby season as they dumped the McMaster Marauders 83-3 Saturday at McMaster’s Ron Joyce Stadium.

Scoring details were not available.

The defending champion Gryphs have won all five of their league games this season, outscoring their opponents 309-38 in the process.

The Gryphs are to complete their regular season Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. game at Varsity Field against the Western Mustangs (1-3-1).

 

Women’s Rugby

The Gryphon men’s game Saturday is to follow a semifinal playoff match for the Gryphon women.

The Gryphs were idle this week thanks to their second-place finish in the league’s standings at the completion of the regular season.

The Gryphs are to host the Brock Badgers in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m.

Brock defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 43-7 Saturday in the quarter-finals.

The Gryphs defeated the Badgers 44-10 in their season opener at Varsity Field Sept. 2.
