Gryphon women score shutout win over Laurier

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons scored once in each period as they blanked the Laurier Golden Hawks 3-0 in OUA women’s hockey play Wednesday at the Gryphon Centre.

Maeve Sutherland-Case in the first period, Tori Verbeek in the second and Jaime Magoffin in the third accounted for the goals in the game, the final two being power-play markers.

Katherine Heard had a pair of assists while Teghan MacRae, Katelyn Dance, Tiana Faccio and Verbeek each had one.

Martina Fedel had 21 saves for her fifth shutout of the season.

The Gryphs had 32 shots at goalie Kayla Renaud and the Golden Hawks.
