Gryphon women suffer close sweep by TMU Bold

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons suffered a 3-0 loss as they dropped a trio of close sets to the Toronto Metropolitan Bold in OUA women’s volleyball play Friday at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.

The Bold won 27-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Mia Miskovic had seven kills, five aces and three blocks for the Gryphs while Samantha Ingleton had eight kills and three blocks, Leah Stewart had eight kills and seven digs, Hailey Holland had eight kills, Sophia Kalbfleisch had five kills and seven digs, Alexa Shields had 31 assists and 13 digs and Payton King had seven digs.

Scarlett Gingera and Lauren Veltman each had nine kills for TMU while Sarah Zonneveld had 25 assists, Ashley Ditchfield had three aces, Julie Gordon had four blocks and Mary Rioflorido had 12 digs.

The Gryphs had 40 kills, eight aces, seven blocks, 37 assists, 46 digs and a .130 kill percentage while the Bold had 37 kills, six aces, seven blocks, 30 assists, 49 digs and a .204 kill percentage.
