Guelph Regals come back to edge London Blue Devils

The Guelph Regals rallied from an early four-goal deficit to edge the London Blue Devils 15-14 in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Thursday at London’s Nichols Recreation Centre.

London scored twice in the first minute of the game and led 5-1 with a minute to go in the opening period. The Regals scored twice in the final minute of the period and netted eight goals in the second period to pull into an 11-11 tie by the end of the second.

Dylan Goddard had four goals for the Regals while Dylan Davey and Ben Morton each had three goals. Brett Vince and Sam Savery had two goals apiece and Cannon Schmidt scored the other goal. Morton had five assists while Davey and Vince each had four, Darcy Rybinski had two and Tyler Beecraft and Graeme Crowder had one apiece.

Brendan Campbell had four goals and seven assists for London while Kahelot Powless had four goals and five assists. Nate Doxtator and Conner Zavits each had two goals and Nolan Candy and Zach Vanderwal each had one goal.

Connor Waller had 23 saves for the Regals in the first half of the game while Anthony Fonte had 20 in the second half.

Both teams had four power-play goals and a shorthanded goal.
