Guelph Regals doubled by Wallaceburg Red Devils

The Guelph Regals yielded the first three goals of a Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League game in which they were doubled 12-6 by the Wallaceburg Red Devils Sunday at the Wallaceburg Arena.

The Regals lost despite outshooting the Red Devils 56-45.

Wallaceburg led 5-3 at the end of the first period and 11-5 by the end of the second.

Sam Savery had a pair of goals for Guelph while single goals were fired home by Dylan Davey, Tyler Beecraft, Ben Morton and Darcy Rybinski. Beecraft and Zachary Wright each had two assists and Dylan Goddard, Davey, Brett Vince, Morton and Rybinski each had one.

Brandon Taylor had a hat trick for Wallaceburg while Kaelen Smith, Jay C Morlog and Dracen Campbell scored twice each. Reece Parker, Max Wojtowicz and Kanton Verstraeten netted single goals.

Wallaceburg scored the game’s lone power-play goal.

Anthony Fonte had 24 saves for the Regals in the first half of the game while Connor Waller had nine in the second half.
