Guelph Regals drop Pacers in Point Edward this time

The Guelph Regals made it two wins over the Point Edward Pacers in as many days as they recorded an 11-5 victory in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Saturday at the Point Edward Arena.

The Regals had won 15-4 at the Victoria Road arena Friday.

Saturday, the Regals surrendered the opening goal of the game, but led 5-1 at the end of the first period and 8-3 after the second.

Brett Vince and Graeme Crowder scored two goals apiece for Guelph while single goals were added by Dylan Davey, Eli Blakeley, Sam Savery, Griffin Crowder, Darcy Rybinski, Max Morgan and Caelan Brady. Dylan Goddard, Davey, Savery and Ben Morton each had two assists while Vince, Tyler Beecraft, Griffin Crowder, Logan Reyes, Morgan and Ryan Whelpley each had one.

Zachary Snider had a hat trick for Point Edward while Caden Loken and Cyrus Sinopole added single goals.

The Regals outshot the Pacers 58-39.

Connor Waller had 34 saves for Guelph and Austin Dalgety had 47 for Point Edward.

The Regals had three power-play goals while the Pacers netted a shorthanded goal.

The result leaves the Regals at 6-3-0-1 (W-L-T-OTL) in league play and Point Edward at 1-8-0-0.

The Regals are to play the London Blue Devils (3-7-0-1) at London’s Nichols Recreation Centre Thursday at 8 p.m.
