Guelph Regals shut Windsor down in final two periods

The Guelph Regals kept the Windsor Clippers scoreless after the first period as they prevailed 5-2 in a low-scoring Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League game Sunday at the Victoria Road arena.

The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period and the Regals grabbed the win with two goals in the second and another goal in the third.

Brett Vince scored a pair of goals for the Regals while Eli Blakeley, Sam Savery and Ben Morton collected single goals. Dylan Davey assisted on three of the goals while Darcy Rybinski had two assists and Graeme Crowder had one.

Mason Myers-Whiteye and Vance Dalpe scored for Windsor.

The Regals outshot the Clippers 44-28 including a 34-18 advantage after the opening period.

Anthony Fonte had 26 saves for Guelph while MJ Schwager had 39 for Windsor.

The Regals had a power-play goal while both of Windsor’s goals were power-play markers.
