Guelph Union edged by Blue Devils at the Bowl

GUELPH – Guelph Union surrendered a pair of goals late in the first half as they were edged 3-2 by Blue Devils FC of Oakville in League1 Ontario Women’s Premier soccer play Wednesday at the Centennial Bowl.

Those two goals in the final 11 minutes of the opening half were the only goals of the half.

Union cut the gap to a single goal with 16 minutes to go in the second half, but the Blue Devils restored their two-goal lead five minutes later. The locals brought the gap back to a single goal with the final marker of the game with three minutes to play.

Victoria Hinchliffe and Hannah Yantha scored for Union.

Natalie Capannelli, Abigaile Russell and Stefanie Young had the goals for the Blue Devils.

Libby Brenneman was in net for Union while Molly Race was in net for the Blue Devils.

The result leaves Union at 3-5-1 on the season and the Blue Devils at 4-4-0.
