Guelph United ousted from OPL Cup play

Guelph United saw its stay in the OPL Cup competition come to an end in the quarterfinals Tuesday when they were edged 2-1 by Master’s FA at Centennial Bowl.

Daniel Avila connected for the lone goal of the first half when he scored in the 27^th minute.

The visitors added to their lead when United scored an own goal in the 50^th minute.

United’s Omar Ladhani tallied for the hosts in the 75^th minute to cut the gap back to the final single-goal margin.

United are to return to OPL 2 league play Friday when they’re to battle Inter Toronto II on Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre’s Field House’s indoor field in Auroira. Game time is 6 p.m.
