Guelph United premier women fall to FC London

Guelph United was handed a 4-1 setback by FC London in League1 Ontario Women’s Premier soccer play Saturday at London’s Tricar Field.

All five goals were scored in the second half with FC London winning it with three goals after the 67th minute.

Jasmine Burke’s goal for United in the 62nd minute had tied the score.

Jade Abreo had opened the scoring for FC London in the 48th minute. Scoring goals after Burke’s tally were Julia Benati in the 68th minute, Bryanna Caldwell in the 74th minute and Tegan Morrison in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

The result leaves United at 1-3-0 (W-L-T) and FC London at 3-1-0.

United is to play NDC Ontario (4-0-0) in L1 Cup play Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Centennial Bowl. Their next league outing is set for next Sunday at 2 p.m. against North Mississauga SC (1-2-1) at the Centennial Bowl.
