Guelph United settles for tie with North Mississauga

Guelph United surrendered a pair of goals in the final 11 minutes of regulation time as they tied North Mississauga SC 2-2 in OPL 2 play Friday night at Mississauga’s Mattamy Sports Park.

United led 1-0 at halftime on a goal on a penalty kick by Marcel Zajac in the 31^st minute.

Ivan Stupak added to the lead with a goal in the 54^th minute.

However, Christian Krzyzanowski pulled North Mississauga even with the quick goals, scoring in the 79^th and 82^nd minutes.

United is to continue their string of season-opening road games when they’re to play Pickering FC at the Pickering Soccer Centre Tuesday at 8 p.m. Including Cup play, it’ll be United’s seventh consecutive road game.

United’s home opener is set for May 24 when they’re to host Windsor City FC at Centennial Bowl. Game time is 6 p.m.
