Guelph United upended for first time this season
MISSISSAUGA – Guelph United suffered their first loss of the League1 Ontario Men’s Premier soccer season Wednesday when they were handed a 2-0 setback by Sigma FC at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre fields.
Sigma’s Miles Green scored once in each half for the win.

Rimi Olatunji had the clean sheet for the hosts while Carter Robart was in net for United.
The result leaves United tied with Burlington SC for seventh in the 21-team league with 18 points apiece. United is at 5-1-3 while Burlington has played a game more and is at 6-4-0.
Sigma is in a three-way tie for first at 21 points with a 6-1-3 record. They’re tied with Blue Devils FC of Oakville at 6-0-3 and Scrosoppi FC of Milton at 7-2-0.
Vaughan Azzurri (6-0-2) and Toronto Nitros (6-2-2) are tied for fourth at 20 points while Simcoe County Rovers FC are sixth with 19 points at 6-3-1.
Next up for United is a match against Vaughan Azzurri Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Centennial Bowl.
United will reach the halfway point of their regular season at the completion of the game.
