Highland men, women both yield 75 points in losses

FERGUS – Fergus Highland suffered a pair of one-sided losses in Niagara Rugby Union play as the men were downed 75-12 by the Stratford Blackswans and the women were dropped 75-7 by the Burlington Centaurs.

NRU Men A

Stratford scored 11 tries and held Highland to two in the game at Stratford’s Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans field.

The loss was the second in as many outings for the Fergus side while Stratford evened its record at 1-1-0.

Highland is to play Niagara Wasps (2-0-0) at the Wasps’ field Saturday at 2 p.m.

NRU Women

Burlington had 13 tries while Highland had a single try.

The results leave Highland at 1-1-0 and Burlington at 2-0-0.

Highland is to play Niagara Wasps (2-0-0) at the Wasps’ field Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
