In the senior league, the home teams swept all four matches with each ending in 3-0 scores.

First-place Guelph CVI Green Gaels (14-0) ousted the eighth-place Lourdes Crusaders (0-14) with a 25-5, 25-20, 25-3 victory.

Second-place Centennial Spartans (11-3) eliminated the seventh-place Orangeville Bears (3-11) with a 25-6, 25-16, 25-9 triumph.

Third-place St. James Lions (10-4) pushed the sixth-place Centre Wellington Falcons (3-11) aside with 25-20, 25-16 and 25-21 set wins. The Lions gained a berth in the CWOSSA AA tournament next Thursday in Waterloo with the win as the other two AA teams (Lourdes and Bishop Macdonell Celtics) suffered losses Monday.

Fourth-place Ross Royals (9-5) put fifth-place Bishop Mac (6-8) out with a 25-23, 25-18, 28-26 win.

The quarter-final winners advance to Wednesday’s semifinals. GCVI is to host Ross at 4 p.m. and St. James is to play at Centennial at 4 p.m.

Semifinal victors are to meet in the league final set for Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.

The CWOSSA AAA tournament for both senior and junior teams is scheduled for Friday of next week (Feb. 23) at RIM Park in Waterloo.
