It’s take two for Centre Dufferin in boys’ basketball

SHELBURNE – The Centre Dufferin Royals swept the District 4 high school boys’ basketball titles with a pair of convincing wins on their home court Wednesday.

The Royals won the senior match 71-39 over the Norwell Varsity Reds and they were victorious by a 68-36 score over the Erin Raiders in the junior final.

Leading scorers were not reported for either match.

The Royals advance to the CWOSSA AA championship tournament in both senior and junior Feb. 23 and 24.

Centre Dufferin is to host every game of the senior tournament while Orangeville’s Westside is to host Feb. 23 action in the junior tournament before it moves to Centre Dufferin for Feb. 24’s semifinals and final.

The CWOSSA A tournaments are to be held at Walkerton and Kincardine Feb. 23 and 24. Pool play in both junior and senior is to be held Feb. 23 and each is to host a semifinal in junior and senior Feb. 24. Both finals are to be held at Walkerton later in the day Feb. 24.

Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus were the lone A squad competing in D4 senior play this season while Erin is to advance to be the D4 representative in the CWOSSA junior tournament.
