Marcus Keleher’s output helps Regals top Wallaceburg

GUELPH – Marcus Keleher turned in a 10-point performance as the Guelph Regals dumped the short-staffed Wallaceburg Red Devils 17-3 in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Wednesday at the Victoria Road arena.

The Regals held the Red Devils without a goal in the final 35:23 of the game while they netted 10 of their own.

The Regals led 5-2 at the end of the first period and 7-3 five minutes into the middle frame. They added two more goals in the second period and had eight goals in the third.

Wallaceburg had 15 players suited up for the game including both goaltenders.

Marcus Keleher collected three goals and seven assists for the Regals while Owen Orpana had four goals and two assists. Dylan Davey had two goals and three assists while Trent Gilbert and Reid MacDonald each had two goals. Charlie Boon had a goal and six assists while Marcus Visentin, Cam Wheeldon and Ethan Keleher netted single goals. Dallon Evans had three assists while goalkeeper Ty Fox-Trudel and Sam MacDonald each had two and Graeme Crowder, Parker Lock and Ethan Keleher each had one.

The Regals outshot Wallaceburg 62-39 and each team was scoreless on three power plays.

Fox-Trudel had 36 saves for Guelph while Mason Jacobs had 45 saves for Wallaceburg.

The result leaves the Regals at 12-5-0 and Wallaceburg at 3-12-0.
