Elora Mohawks

Mohawks net five or more each period in win over Wallaceburg

The Elora Mohawks scored at least five goals in each period as they dropped the Wallaceburg Red Devils 20-7 in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League play Saturday at Jefferson Elora Community Centre.

The Mohawks scored the first six goals of the game. They led 5-0 at the end of the first period and 13-4 after the second.

Keegan Detweiler fired in six goals for the Mohawks while Brinley Wilson had four and Nate Renaud had three. Evan McDougall and Owen Moore connected for two apiece and JJ Lavigne, Brock Red wood and Connor Willmets scored one apiece. Wilson had six assists while Lavigne had five and Evan McDougall and Detweiled each had four. Cole Hunsberger, Renaud and Moore each had three while Ryan McDougall and Willmets had two apiece and Owen Tovell and Trae Verbeek had one each.

Kaelen Smith and Notah Hopkins scored twice each for Wallaceburg and Brayden Sands, Reese Sands and Colton Noah each scored once.

Elora outshot Wallaceburg 69-24 and had two power-play goals and two shorthanded tallies. Wallaceburg had four power-play goals.

Carter Billings had 17 saves for Elora.
