Norwell opens their boys’ hockey season with triumph

PALMERSTON – The Norwell Varsity Reds opened their District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league with a 7-3 victory over the St. James Lions Thursday at the Palmerston arena.

Preston McIntosh and Ethan McCarey struck for two goals apiece for Norwell.

Nathan Boyle had two goals for St. James.

The loss was the first of the season for the Lions who had won their season opener last week.

Scoring leaders were not reported.

The win was the second in three days for the Spartans with both wins coming at Centennial arena.

The loss was the third in as many outings for the Falcons.
