Raiders, Royals to meet in senior boys’ soccer final
HILLSBURGH – The Erin Raiders and Centre Dufferin Royals gained berths in Thursday’s District 4 high school senior boys’ soccer final by recording semifinal victories Monday.
The Raiders defeated the Westside Thunder 3-1 at Barbour Field while the Royals doubled the Norwell Varsity Reds 4-2 on the Centre Dufferin field.
Erin and Centre Dufferin had finished tied for first place with 5-2-1 records while Norwell was third at 4-4-0 and Westside was fourth at 2-4-2.
Erin was awarded first thanks to their 3-0 victory over the Royals in Erin Oct. 2. Centre Dufferin edged the Raiders 2-1 in Shelburne last week, but Erin’s three-goal victory gave them the tiebreaker.
Thursday’s final is to be played on the Erin Public School field. Game time is 2:30 p.m.

Braedon Haddow had a pair of goals for Erin while Logan Quaresma-Puzzo added the other one.
Westside’s scorer was not reported.
Centre Dufferin Royals 4 Norwell Varsity Reds 2
K. Lewis had a hat trick for Centre Dufferin while A. Newell also scored.
P. Dineen and G. Moore had single goals for Norwell.
