Raiders start girls’ soccer season with shutout win

The Erin Raiders opened their District 4 high school girls’ soccer campaign with a 4-0 blanking of the Westside Thunder Wednesday on the Erin Public School field.

The Raiders received goals from Lindsey Caldwell, Alixandra Cuthbertson, Brooke DeCordova and Charlotte Cuthbertson.

The game was the second of the week and regular season for Westside.

The Thunder downed Wellington Heights Monday on their home field in Orangeville.

Makayla Sproule struck for five goals for Westside while Lauren Wilson-Fairservice and Lauren Holmes added single goals.

Sydney West scored for Wellington Heights in the season opener for the Wolverines.
