Redcoats women’s complete unbeaten Firsts regular season

GUELPH – The Guelph Redcoats completed an undefeated journey through Rugby Ontario’s Ontario Women’s League Firsts season with a 51-33 victory over Scarborough RFC Saturday at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields.

The Redcoats scored seven tries in the match, two more than Scarborough.

It was the ninth win in as many outings for the Royal City squad while Scarborough finished with a 3-6-0 record.

There was no Seconds game as Scarborough conceded the match.

Guelph’s Seconds finished their regular season at 5-4-0 while Scarborough was right behind at 4-5-0.

The Redcoats Firsts, two-time defending league champions, get a bye in the quarter-finals and are to host a semifinal match July 29 at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields at 12:30 p.m.

The Redcoats Seconds are expected to host a quarter-final match Saturday, although time and opponent have not been decided.
