Regals, Six Nations to start conference semifinal Friday

GUELPH – The Guelph Regals are to open their best-of-five Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League semifinal playoff series with the Six Nations Rebels Friday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville.

Game time is 8 p.m.

Second game of the series is to go Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Victoria Road arena while Game 3 is slated for July 14 in Hagersville at 8 p.m.

If Game 4 is needed, it’s to be played July 16 at 3 p.m. at the Victoria Road arena.

The teams are to play July 17 at 8 p.m. in Hagersville if Game 5 is necessary.

Both teams won their conference quarter-finals, the Regals advancing to the Tier 1 conference semifinals for the first time ever with a three-game sweep of the Windsor Clippers while the Rebels remained unbeaten this season as they ousted the Owen Sound North Stars in three games.

Six Nations finished atop the conference with a perfect 20-0-0 record while the Regals were fourth at 14-6-0.

In the regular season, the Rebels beat the Regals 20-8 in Guelph in the season opener April 22 and 11-6 in Hagersville June 9.
