
Royals all alone atop senior boys’ volleyball standings
GUELPH – The Ross Royals gained sole possession of first place in the District 10 high school senior boys’ volleyball league with a 3-1 victory over the Centennial Spartans Thursday at Ross.
It was the Royals’ second win over their perennial rivals this season as they had won 3-0 at Centennial Sept. 26.
Thursday, Ross prevailed 25-20, 25-13, 25-27, 25-19.
That result combined with a 3-1 victory by the Guelph CVI Green Gaels over the Lourdes Crusaders leaves the Royals all alone in first place at 9-1. Centennial and Lourdes are both at 8-2 while GCVI’s at 6-4. The St. James Lions are next at 4-6 and they’re followed by the Centre Wellington Falcons at 3-7, Bishop Macdonell Celtics at 2-8 and Orangeville Bears at 0-10.
Teams have four games remaining on their regular-season schedules.
