Spartans, Bears get first-place showdown in senior hoops

GUELPH – The Centennial Spartans and Orangeville Bears have looked headed for a showdown for first place the entire District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball league season.

Well, that showdown’s upon us as the Spartans and Bears will clash Thursday at Centennial with the winner getting first place.

Centennial defeated the Lourdes Crusaders Tuesday while Orangeville downed the Bishop Macdonell Celtics. GCVI was knocked out of the reckoning for top spot with a loss to the Ross Royals.
