Rockwood FC nipped by Saltfleet Stoney Creek in OWSL South Region play

SALTFLEET – Rockwood FC was edged 3-2 by Saltfleet Stoney Creek in Ontario Women’s Soccer League South Region play Monday at Sherwood Park.

Lily Campbell and Francesca Maltais scored for Rockwood.

Jaiden Morgan had two goals for Saltfleet Stoney Creek while Isabelle Udovc had the other goal.

The result leaves Rockwood tied for third with Red Academy, both at 2-2-0, while Saltfleet Stoney Creek leads the eight-team league at 4-0-0 and Paris FC is second at 3-0-0.

Rockwood is to host Paris FC next June 28 at Marden Park. Game time is 9 p.m.

 

Rockwood FC downs HEADS United in OWSL South Region U21

ROCKWOOD – Rockwood FC downed HEADS United 4-1 in Ontario Women’s Soccer League South Region U21 play Sunday at Drexler Sports Fields.

Sarah Brown had a pair of goals for Rockwood while the others were scored by Olivia Pozzobon and Elivia Garbuio.

Dakota Poulter had the lone goal for HEADS.

Next game for Rockwood is Tuesday against the Burlington Bayhawks at Burlington’s Sherwood Forest Park.

Next game for HEADS is Wednesday against Cambridge United at Cambridge’s Bill Struck Field beginning at 9 p.m.

 

Guelph Royals downed by Stratford City FC in KDSL Premier Division

GUELPH – Guelph Royals were handed a 5-1 setback by Stratford City FC in Kitchener and District Soccer League Premier Division play Sunday at the Guelph Lakes Sports Fields.

Stratford City led 3-0 at halftime.

Conall Rea had the lone goal for the Royals.

Ethan Gebremichael had a pair of goals for Stratford City while single goals were netted by Aap Inthasian, Isaac Nickel and Mike Schuler.

The results leave the Royals at 0-5-0 and Stratford City at 4-2-0.

The Royals are to play Riverside FC (also 0-5-0) Sunday at 8 p.m. at Kitchener’s RBJ Schlegel Park.
