
Third consecutive D4 junior girls’ hoops title for Eagles
ERIN – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles captured the District 4 high school junior girls’ basketball title Tuesday as they downed the Erin Raiders 24-15 at Erin.
Courtney V. led the Eagles with eight points.
Meghan O’Reilly had six for Erin.
The win was the third in a row for Emmanuel Christian who had never taken league honours before the pandemic.
With the win, Emmanuel Christian also becomes the D4 representative in the CWOSSA A championship tournament next week at Woodland Christian in Breslau. That tournament is to be held Nov. 17 and Emmanuel Christian is to play Kincardine in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m. The other semifinal has Woodland playing Waterford at 10 a.m. and semifinal winners are to meet in the final at 4 p.m.
