Thunder, Eagles tied atop senior girls’ basketball loop

ORANGEVILLE – The Centre Dufferin Royals handed the Westside Thunder their first setback of the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball season Wednesday when they posted a 40-33 victory at Westside.

Paula Gaston led Centre Dufferin with 12 points while Ashley Valade had 10.

Bigler and McLean had eight points apiece for Westside.

The result combined with a win over the Erin Raiders by the Emmanuel Christian Eagles leaves Westside and Emmanuel Christian tied atop the league at 4-1. Centre Dufferin is third at 3-2 while Erin is at 2-2, Wellington Heights Wolverines is at 0-3 and Norwell is at 0-4.
