Win at home puts Emmanuel Christian atop senior hoops loop
FERGUS – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles moved into the lead of the District 4 senior girls’ basketball league with a 49-24 victory over the Erin Raiders Friday at Emmanuel Christian.
Henrietta Thalen struck for a game-high 20 points for the Eagles.
Kendra S. had 11 for Erin.
The Eagles lead the league at 5-1, but have played more games than any other team in the league. Westside Thunder are second at 4-1, Centre Dufferin Royals third at 3-2, Erin fourth at 2-3, Norwell Varsity Reds fifth at 1-4 and Wellington Heights Wolverines sixth at 0-4.
Norwell 39 Wellington Heights 20
Timmerman led Norwell with 20 points in a game played earlier in the week.
West collected 10 for Wellington Heights.

Erin remained unbeaten in the three-team league with the win. Raiders are at 3-0, Emmanuel Christian Eagles are at 1-2 and Wellington Heights Wolverines are at 0-2.

Courtney V. connected for 10 for Emmanuel Christian.
